Sorry for the delay in setting a date, but I was waiting til I knew my =
kids' schedules and couldn't set a final date until now. I hope most of =
the people who said they were interested will be able to come as we've =
all had a great time at the last two Bay area gatherings.
This summer's gathering will be Sunday, July 30th on my back terrace and =
garden in Palo Alto. If we have a hot spell then, we'll want to start =
early before the day really heats up, so I'll be ready from 11:00 on, =
but you all are welcome to come any time that afternoon, hang out, eat =
good food, and drink too much coffee. Spouses, friends, significant =
others, etc. are also welcome even if they are not coffee fanatics. If =
anyone from outside the Bay area is going to be in town then, please =
come join us too.
I'll provide:
My Giotto Premium should be in full running condition by then and I'll =
also have my Mazzer Mini. For anyone who wants to try HotTop or heat =
gun dog bowl roasting, I'll have my gear available too. I have a couple =
of French presses and a Greek coffee pot.
I'll probably do a bit of baking, so let me know if you have any =
favorites - brownies, madeleines, biscotti, etc. - as I'm always open to =
good suggestions. I do have MiKe McKoffee's biscotti recipe and it is =
awesome. I'll also have some lemonade and plenty of ice on hand.
What you should bring:
Vegetarian goodies ready to eat - I'll have plenty of paper goods =
available, but please bring serving dishes.
Beans, roasted or unroasted.
Drinks, if you want anything more than coffee or lemonade.
Your own espresso cups or coffee mugs - I may not have enough.
Comfortable shoes you can slip off easily if you want to go inside.
A bathing suit and towel if you want to cool off in our Endless Pool.
Nice to have:
Any other coffee gear you'd like to bring - roasters, grinders, espresso =
machines, additional French presses.
An electric water pot or a portable burner so we can easily heat water =
outside for French presses.
RSVP:
If you plan to come, please send me your name and a phone number I can =
reach you at in case of any last minute changes. I'll send my address =
and detailed directions to everyone who rsvp's shortly.
