Topic: Ultimate Moka-Java (4 msgs / 79 lines)
1) From: Les
If a "Moka-Java is a blend of an Ethiopian or Yemen coffee and an
Island coffee from Indonesia, I must share one of the most awesome
blends to date. Yesterday I brewed a 50 -50 blend of full city plus
Sumatra Classic Madheling with full city Green Strip Harar Horse.
These were post roast blended and had rested 5 days. This is one
sweet full flavored balanced Moka Java blend. I served it up at book
club last night and I got very positive reviews. Becky said it was
one of the best she has ever experienced. So if you are looking for a
great blend give this one a try. Sweet Marias still has both beans.

My Green Stripe has really hit stride with 72+ hours rest. I pulled a few
shots this AM with it and the fruit was there in abundance. Very nice
coffee. This is not the screaming bright blueberry of the Lot 30 but a
delicious ripe tropical fruit flavor. I am really liking the Green Stripe.
I roasted this one at the same time as the Bugisu and think that this will
also make a very nice blend.

This was one of the things that finally made me have a little confidence
in my blending.
Harmasatra = MokkaJava, or at least close to it. I never seem to find
blueberries in my MokkaJava though.
Speaking of which, has anyone tried lot 19 (or 34 for that matter, but I
never got any of that) as an iced coffee? Oh Dear lord... I've been
brewing it in my KMB and immediately putting the pot in the fridge all
week long. Wonderful stuff!
I'd love to know what you're reading if you reply off list.

I have now discovered it is never too hot to roast...

That pushed me over the top.
I have more than enough Sumatran, but order in for 2#s of Flores (I
loved it but it went too quickly) and some of the Green Strip Harar
Horse as well.
