Topic: The value of home-roasted coffee (3 msgs / 70 lines)
1) From: an iconoclast
I love homeroasting! I love the Zen of stirring the beans, listening
for cracks, looking for smoke and color and being alone. And then
there's the aroma of fresh roasted beans. Pure nirvana!
And:
I got 2 crates of absolutely delicious blueberries in exchange for 2
lbs of beans.
I was able to give my union rep a 1/2 lb of beans to say thank you for caring.
I was able to say thank you to a friend for giving us Steely Dan and
then Tom Petty concert tickets by giving them an Aeropress and beans.
I'm able to give my sis and bro in law coffee for life and a KMB for
letting us recyle their cedar deck into our 500 sq ft deck and giving
us their lawn tractor.
I can give fresh roasted coffee for a raffle gift.
I can sell my home-roasted coffee to get a better price on my beans
and spread the joy of home-roasted coffee. Not to mention the
constant aroma coming from my backpack when I deliver it to them.
I never have to drink OTHER coffee if I bring my coffee to a work
party or meeting and everyone's happy.
Finally, I can give a homemade gift without sewing or crafting or all
the other things I DON"T like to do.
I'm happy.

I know the feeling, Ann. I have several mason jars full of coffee that I
will give away in the morning. It's a wonderful hobby that friends and
family appreciate.
