I should know better than to look at the sale items on the SM site. I just nabbed the slightly used Miss Silvia (unless it really was already gone), but the web page not yet updated to reflect that. I'm waiting for real confirmation before getting a better grinder. I'd actually been watching for one, as used things don't have the 12% duty or our 6% GST (national sales tax) tacked on. I gotta tell you guys, I have serious postal envy for those of you who are in the US. I just got 15 pounds of beans and 5 SM bags in the mail. The shipping charge was $27.10--and SM has the most reasonable shipping on the 'net--they don't add in $20 for a box and some crumpled up paper like so many on line vendors. If I could hold for Harvey, I'd be buying 12 pounds of greens waaaay too often, so mebbe the shipping is a blessing in disguise. Vicki
Well, if you didn't succeed... You could just ask Tom to demo one for a few days and then sell it to you. ;)
SM already has the best prices on the 'net, and there is no way I would ask them to sell me something without their getting their regular "taste". I know, you're joking, but still... v Obrien, Haskell W. wrote: <Snip>
Silvia Espresso Smith- has a nice ring to it. But, you're pulling our collective leg, aren't you Vicki? I rung up the Sweet Marias web site just now, and Silvia was still there. I had seen it Friday, 4th Aug, for the first time and thought , "This won't last the weekend!" Guess not, huh? I hope there's an SES! Cheers -RayO, aka Opa! Got Grinder?
Ohhh, I get you now, you weren't suggesting that they price it used, only that it *be* used. hehehe. v
Well, I *will* have a grinder. Right now I have my Solis Maestro Classic, but as soon as I know for sure that it really is the one and only (yeah, right) Smith Miss Silvia, I will address the grinder upgrade issue. Now, if there were only a matching slightly used Rocky on the page... v raymanowen wrote: <Snip>
Or, just have it sent to me Vicki! I'd be glad to use it for a while before passing it on. I mean, what are freinds for? I wouldn't even chage you for the beans I'd use ... probably ;) On 8/7/06, Obrien, Haskell W. wrote: <Snip> -- "There is nothing new under the sun but there are lots of old things we don't know." -- Ambrose Bierce
Talk about rubbing salt in the wounds, Michael. Maria said she will watch out for one for me, so it's just a matter of time. v Michael Wascher wrote: <Snip>
