I heard from Maria and I did indeed get the Miss Silvia. Now, when Ron comes home in a coupla hours, I simply need to point out that the Rocky costs just a tad more than a replacement computerized key for his new car, and I should be golden. I asked Maria to substitute greens for the pound of roasted espresso blend in the offer, and that's happening too. Not much sense in wasting Tom's wonderful roast that way--it can take a couple of weeks for things to get here. Vicki (Miss Silvia's Mom) Smith
From a former Silvia user and lover.Congratulations. I know you have been wanting a Silvia for quite some time now. Rocky and a good tamper are crucial. Have patience with her and you are in for a real treat. She will teach you all the Barista skills you will need.
Sweet Maria's is including a good tamper in the package, and I will be ordering the Rocky today or tomorrow. Then, when Miss Silvia arrives, Ron, Miss Silvia, and I going on a road trip to see a Barista/roasting friend a few hours north of here for a quick espresso 101 including tamping lessons and, perhaps, PID installation. Oh, Boo Hoo. Maria just wrote to me and said that she just realized that the used Miss Silvia was ordered earlier in the weekend by someone else. Their ordering system didn't work as is it was supposed to. I guess that means I will have to wait a bit, and order a new one when I am planning a visit to the US. I can bring it over as baggage duty and tax free that way. Good thing I really love my KMB coffee. Vicki
