Topic: Gesha is in, and our special CR Peaberry (11 msgs / 226 lines)
1) From: Tom & Maria - Sweet Maria's Coffee
Hi all - people keep asking me to do an RSS feed when there are new
coffees. For now, I can't figure out how to do that, so I thought I
would just email the new coffee additions. Gesha is in!
Tom
8/9: The expensive and much awaited Panama Hacienda La Esmeralda
Gesha is in stock, and it does not cost over $50 a pound! But hold on
big-spender, there is a 2 Lb. limit. No less exciting (to me at
least) is our special Costa Rica "SM Select" Peaberry, the third year
we offer this specially sourced lot, full of winey fruit, nuts, and
chocolate. New crop Colombia NariŅo -Reserva del Patron is in
(remarkably balanced coffee with great body) and another whammo Kenya
from an already epic year: Kenya AA Auction Lot 434 -Kithungururu.
And lastly a very nice, "true to origin character" Sumatra decaf is
in (low acid, earthy, heavy body); Sumatra Organic Gayoland WP Decaf.

That figures since my latest order just arrived today (two days coast to
coast). Now the Guatemala winner should be in next week some time since I
ordered my Gesha.
I really enjoyed reading the July/August Tiny Joy. Thanks so much for
sharing.

Technically still more or less in stash reduction mode but been watching for
Tom to get Gesha. Gesha limit on it's way with 5# DP Yirg' been wanting to
try and 5# Brazil Yellow Bourbon the List forced me to order;-)

I have my RSS reader set to track changes on the what's new page. That
is an alternative if you have a reader that does that. The web site
person doesn't have to have a RSS link that way.
Of course it is even better when we get the news *before* Tom and Maria
post it for the hoi polloi.

Mike,
Only a 5 pounder of the Yellow Bourbon, a McKoffee sampler! My ten
pounder arrived a couple of days ago. I just finished off my first
roast of the new Yellow Bourbon (a one pound sampler). Wow is that
good stuff! Of course, now I will have to drift over to the SM site
and see how my will power is doing. I did find a pound of last year's
Gesha in the stash. Maybe I will rationalize that I need to compare
this year with last year. The angelic voice is saying, "No, you
already have some, you don't need more." The devil voice is saying,
"You must compare, you must compare." The angel side is saying,
"Stash reduction, Stash reduction, Stash reduction." The devil side
is saying, "Oh what is another pound or two, besides you need to add a
few of those others to bring the price per pound down. We do save
money roasting our own."........................................The
battle goes on! Thomas Owen if you read this post, are you feeling a
little guilty yet. :>) All kidding aside, thanks for giving us these
kind of problems and I hope your adventure to S. America for us again
will provide some more unique coffee experiences.

That's how I feel. I blew my entire monthly coffee allowance already
and can't order again until September. CONSARN IT!

If I got one, I know just what I'd do with it, and then Tom or Maria
would be calling me at all hours of the day and night to remind me of
my obligations. Meanwhile I'd be sitting in the middle of
approximately one ton of greens, giggling and wondering which to
roast next.

Les, did I understand you correctly and you haven't ordered your 2# Gesha?!
When it comes to rarities like Panama Gesha stash reduction doesn't come
into play. That would be almost as bad as not ordering Island of Saint
Helena if Tom happen to be able to source some that was both quality and
reasonably priced (sub $50 per pound)...

Mike,
As Flip Wilson put it so well, "The Devil made me do it!" Besides, it
is a Panama!
I posted before drifting over to the SM site! Would you pass up a
rare Kona with a rating over 90? I know I wouldn't. I won't pass up
anything with over a 90 rating, so the new Kenya is coming too! I
sure wouldn't want the Gesha to get lonely on the trip up north. It
might affect the character.

I just received a shipment yesterday. Temptation is in the air. Is the limit per person or per order? What if I have a couple people that want to combine a Harvey order of Gesha to save on shipping? I think my cats want to get some too:')
