By coincidence, I have just finished reading Nikola Tesla's autobiography,
"My Inventions", and Marc J. Seifer's massive bio "Wizard: The Life and
Times of Nikola Tesla". What a strange man he was, and truly a genius. I
recommend both of these books to those who are interested in the history of
electronics.
There is a fascinating and dangerous possibility that Tesla really did
invent and build a "death ray" device. And this technology may be in the
possession of the American and Russian governments. This weapon may use a
particle beam or Xrays, there is some confusion here. Tesla did a lot of
experiments with both Xrays and electron beams. A working model of his
device was supposedly stored in a trunk among his possessions. The trunk was
opened after his death and a simple standard resistance box was found
instead. It is assumed by those of us conspiracy theorists that the model
was stolen. More than likely, his "death ray" was fictitious, for self
promotion and to solicit funds to pay off his debts.
