Topic: Separation problems with Gold Foil Bags (5 msgs / 152 lines)
1) From: Sweet Maria's Coffee
Hello Myron, Terry, Justin, Terry, Paul, Sandy, and others,...
We're sorry to hear about problems with the bags and we have sent out
some replacements when we've heard of failures.
Let us know at info and we'll do our best to replace
anything that went bad.
It helps for us to get feedback even if you think it's a small
problem so we can straighten out as appropriate with the manufacturer.
We haven't had this problem until recently so it looks like QC might
need to be tuned up at the bag manufacturer.

When I order beans from SM i usually order some one way valved
bags-both the larger gold foiled and the smaller clear plastic.
I may have gotten some from a fluke production..but it seems to me
that the gold foiled ones are LESS reliable than the clear plastice
model.
Have any of you had troubles with the ziplock coming apart from the
bag itself of either of these models?

Ok, this problem does not involve me, I have not ordered these bags but
I just want to say.
Tom, Maria, and company....
Thank you...
a problem is there and your business immediately is sending out
replacements, pretty much no questions asked.... unfortunately and very
sadly, it is rare that you will see that nowadays from a business.
Folks, this is not walmart where they have millions of dollars to 'slush
'off or more specifically 'write off'. To see a business give their
customers a no questions asked,... you are not happy... here.... here's
a new one, we are so sorry for the problem... is customer service at
it's very best.
This alone, is plenty reason to say, thank you, and to fully support a
company that will take care of their customers to this extent.

I find the zip-loc will last longer if you open from one end or the other.

I've bought a couple batches of the gold foil bags. All have exhibited the
symptoms that everyone describes here. I don't know what the normal
lifetime of a zip-type bag would be. I simply assumed that they were
quickly reaching their failure point.
