Topic: It Has Started... (4 msgs / 141 lines)
1) From: David Schooley
Thursday morning, I left out a 1/4 lb bag of Mexico Chiapas for one
of my dog walkers.
Yesterday, one of my neighbors asked about "that heavy box" she left
on my porch after the mailman left it on her porch by mistake several
days ago. It was a Harvey order. (The mailman makes this mistake all
the time.) I explained what was in the box and ducked into the house
to get her a few greens to look at. I gave her two green El Salvador
Finca El Carmens and two Nicaraguan peaberrys to look at and compare.
She and her husband were fascinated by them. Today I will be
delivering a 1/4 pound of Yirg (Oramia Coop) to their house.
Another neighbor will be getting 1/4 lb of Moka Kadir later today.
She was involved in a follow-up to the conversation previously
described and likes darker roasts. The Moka Kadir will be perfect.
Thanks to Scott's Chicagoland roast-off coming up next weekend, a
group of my coworkers in the Transmission Planning, Interconnection
Services, and System Protection departments at Commonwealth Edison
(ComEd for the Chicago folks) will end up with fresh roasted Chiapas.
There will even be a shipment to Philadelphia. (There is no way I
could have done this many batches with just my iRoast.)
Very few of these people knew it was possible to roast coffee at home
prior to this week.
I was beginning to worry about stash reduction. Silly me.

Good for Stash Redux mode- but they'll become dependent unless you start
having trouble with your roaster pretty soon...
Egad- you're not roasting Decaf for anybody, are you? Serves 'em right!

They already know I will bring in extra brewed coffee on Friday
mornings upon request. This fresh beans bit may open the floodgates.
The neighbors I can manage. I don't know about the coworkers.
The roaster was sort of making a funny sound this evening...
No decaf in the stash. No plans to add it.

Did it rhyme with "Hell, NO?"
Cheers -RayO, aka Opa!
Only your roaster knows...
