Leo -
I'm just getting caught up w/my emails. I don't want you to think I was
ignoring you - I want you to know that I appreciate your kind words.
It's been crazy here. My sweet border collie, Emma is doing fine now,
(except for the worst separation anxiety she's had since we adopted
her). She was in Angell Memorial animal hospital, first for three days,
then after she came home, she had a grand mal seizure and some small
ones later on. I had to rush her back in - she stayed another day -
until I decided it was time for her to come home. Still no diagnosis...
They charge a minimum of $750 per day (and I without an income, and
savings that are dwindling fast). She received tremendous care (more so
the first three days she was there...), is alive, thank God, and I have
actually gotten the first full night's sleep in weeks. Plus all the
driving back & forth managed to aggravate a knee injury I've been
ignored to some extent.
I am also sorry about your friend, and her dog. People who don't have
animal companions can't understand how deep an impact these little
creatures have on our hearts. Your friend needs time to mourn, just as
we do when we lose a human companion.
