I roasted some harar horse for the 1st time yest. Got it to use as a blend, but seeing that MiKe McKoFfEE was right, I tried it on its on. Roasted it to an 10min city+ roast. Pulled a single ristretto, around 1/3oz, tonight. Wow. This thing is PACKED with flavors! Its got all sorts of fruitiness, wine-like qualities, really interesting! Not really anything chocolately imo, but im sure that mixing this with something that has more chocolate will be amazing. Im curious to see how it will change flavor over the next few days.. Anyone else experience this stuff? :)
So I was "right" posting a direct quote of what Tom Owens has posted on his Sweet Maria's site concerning SO's and blending. Good. Kona Konnaisseur miKe mcKoffee URL to Rosto mods, FrankenFormer, some recipes etc:http://mdmint.home.comcast.net/coffee/Rosto_mod.htmUltimately the quest for Koffee Nirvana is a solitary path. To know I must first not know. And in knowing know I know not. Each Personal enlightenment found exploring the many divergent foot steps of Those who have gone before. <Snip>
You didn't cite the quote, you plagerer, so you were only half right! Thx again..
Guess again, no plagiarism involved. Check the archives, my post did in fact state it was a direct quote from Tom and was in fact within quotation marks. miKe <Snip>
Youre correct, I was thinking of another post. Thx again :) No comments on the bean?
Leo, The chocolate will arrive in about 4-5 days. It is an amazing coffee! I sure am glad I got a 10 pounder. Les On 9/20/06, Leo Zick wrote: <Snip>
I have two other Horses in stash and didn't get any of the green stripe. But it sounds like you discovered some of it's character others had previously talked about. Just another Sweet Maria's winner! miKe <Snip>
Mike, Send me your address again. There will be some horse riding north! If you don't send your address, I will look it up anyway. Les On 9/20/06, miKe mcKoffee wrote: <Snip>
I have never had a coffee quite like this one. I have made several Americanos with it and each sip from the same cup tastes different and each one is better than the last one. It tastes of all sorts of fruit, not just blueberries like the lot 30. I like lot 30 very much, but this one is something special, an indescribable explosion of flavors. I have also tried it in the TV and it is good, but not nearly as dynamic as when used in the espresso machine. Mike Chester
