The referenced subject will probably pique the attention of the bashers and
those that are fond of piling onto said bashers...
Seems like I just bough a pair of sandals from... ah, no that was
Moosejaw... a delightfully different experience or so I ramble.
Anyway, follow the link for a different take on looking down your nose at
Starbuck's.http://www.palmbeachpost.com/localnews/content/local_news/epaper/2006/09/25/s1b_starbucks_0925.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat

Well, coffee is less the lightning rod than the very popular, plebian
patronage Palm Beach deplores. For better or worse, SB's is now
synonomous with "common, coloquial culture". Okay, enough alliteration.
I remember a Simpson's episode where Starbuck's is popping up everywhere
in Springfield...if memory serves, Bart walks into a toy store deploring
the invasion, walks out, remembers he left something inside, turns
around, and finds the store has been converted in the interim into
another SBs.

Hah!
When I lived in south FL ... Broward county, more colloquially known as Fort
Lauderdale, I used to love it when I'd visit my grandmother & aunt in PB
county. They lived in Boca Raton, but every once in a while we would venture
up to the Palm Beach area to visit the shops on Worth Ave. or have lunch
somewhere. The wealthy folks of the Palm Beaches are an interesting bunch...
eccentric only begins to describe ...
cheers,
