I wish I had this last year when I was in Iraq.
I imagine I could scare up this LT's address via the MEF HQ Group if anyone
wants to send greens.

Thanks Sean,
I am a Medical Chaplain by day, barista in the early AM and a tamper maker
at night! A great story.

Thanks Sean - I just sent this to my sister, whose husband is being deployed
in a few months.

Great name, great idea there. I love it.
I just hope some crybaby lame ass group don't try to whine and cause a
storm over the name he choose for it because it might offend some
obscure sect somewhere.
If you can dig up a name and addy, please send to me i want to send him
a bunch of greens for the boys overseas.

If there is enough interest in doing this, would some
one person act as shipping agent and all donors can
pitch in some pittance for shipping costs? Or is there
a service that offers delivery of items to those
serving in war zones.
Put me down for a pound's worth.

Michael -
To do what?
I think you mean to send coffee to the soldiers?

Well, at that point wouldn't it make more sense to have everyone interested
simply put in their order at Sweet Marias, with a note that this is for the
soldiers in Iraq, then they can combine the orders and ship directly from
the warehouse?

9) From: Michael Holland
Dan, my thought was to send the greens to the Chaplain
mentioned in the story.
Tricia, If Tom & Maria wanted to facilitate a shipment
through local channels, that would be wonderful but
they probably have enough to do keeping us in Horse
Green Stripe and peaberries.
Military -at-Large, Isn't there/wasn't there a part of
the USO that coordinated package deliveries to troops?

That sounds like a possible answer, Tricia. They are the experts at packing
and shipping coffee, after all! I, too, would like to make a contribution
if we can get the address, etc.

I thought so, but I must be missing something because I'm not seeing "the
story" any where. Hmmm....

Me too!
One way might be to send an SM gift certificate & let the chaplain choose.
Are the Sweet Maria's gift certificates electronic or do they get mailed. If
it's via snail mail it'd really slow things down.

Hey that is a NAVY LT... As I have said before the NAVY knows it's
coffee! he is taking care of the Marines.. I'll be taking care of an
entire carrier. Nice to see that someone else deployed is doing the
home roasting.

I was TAD all this week - I will look up his address in the Global on Monday
and contact him to see what if anything he needs.
I know many of you all sent ME stuff last year, and how grateful I was!
