Topic: Breakfast cereal coffee scare! (13 msgs / 412 lines)

Post Great Grains had a scary addition in the box, a 1.75oz brick of
Seattle's Worst Blend. With little a brochure proclaiming "Enjoy Smooth
CoffeeHouse Coffee At Home". Man it's bad enough a Charbucks/Seattle's Worst
on every corner now they're invading the food supply! Maybe it's because
it's October and just a Halloween trick 'cuz it sure 'aint no treat:-)

first not know. And in knowing know I know not. Each Personal enlightenment

I'd rather have gotten the decoder ring. For those of you under 50. It was a
Green Lantern or Tom Mix thing.

I got these in my Post Cranberry Almond Crunch cereal too. I took them =
to
work and tried to give them to people who would really appreciate them. =
The
people at work are all currently employed, so I don't think they were as
impressed as they could have been.

The mention of the decoder ring reminded me of the infamous Orphan
Annie's Secret Society decoder pin from the movie "A Christmas Story".
I love that movie.

Agreed. However, If Charbucks and Seattle's Worst didn't exist...could we
really call ourselves coffee snobs? I personally like the fact that these
horrible commercial coffees exist, it gives me something to complain about
in the office and to my wife. And a way to tout my coffee knowledge!
Long live offensive commercial coffee, long live the coffee snob!
PS. Has anyone cupped the new Dry Processed Misty Valley Yergy that Sweet
Marias just got in? I just placed an order and I can't wait till uit comes.

I don't know why people go on and on about starbucks, seattle's best and
mcdonalds coffee. To include them in any conversation is to legitimize what
they do. Do you really need someone to look down upon to feel good about
what you do? Those corporations do what they do and apparently people like
it. I am attracted to homeroasting because it is an awesome cup of coffee,
not because of anything negative that could be said about someone else.
Focusing on corporations doesn't improve my cup of coffee. Some might say
that it's focusing on the problem and not on the solution...

you bring up a good point, make me feel bad, and make me realize my
wife is right, all at once.
i bash starbucks too, but they do have a great biz plan, and it works.
when people bash walmart i defend them too. why? a great biz plan, a
good product, and great prices. it works.
hows my wife right? b/c she says im too critical with my opinions sometimes=
.
bah. :)
