I now realized that I scorched my first batch of FTO Ethiopian =
Yirgacheffe. Even so it was suprisingly good. And after some practice =
I am now getting great results using my Lodge cast iron melting pot and =
the propane starter flame on my Weber Performer charcoal grill. My =
roasting is taking about 15 min for a C+ with a gradual increase in heat =
at the begining as the pot is preheated for only about 30 sec. I am now =
able to hit any roast I want with little to no bean scorching. I do =
have to stir with a 3 pronged wood fork for a majority of the time but =
it has been well worth it as I have been blown away by the superb =
quality of the results. I started with a Sweet Marias 8 sampler pack. =
I have tried 7 of the 8 and have been drinking coffee that is better =
than I thought it could be. I have never enjoyed coffee so much. I =
appreciate the work Tom and Maria have done to educate and run this =
business with integrity.
Also I have enjoyed reading this email forum and have learned a bunch =
from you all.
Thanks ... Blake
