I have almost finished my modified popper except for one thing  how  
the heck do I connect the transformer for the fan circuit.  on one  
side of the transformer there are 2 black wires and on the other side  
there are 2 yellow wires and 1 black.  I have everything complete but  
this step.  please help!

If this is a Radio Shack transformer, the single black wire is a center tap=
.
It will give you about 12 volts when connected across the fan load with
either of the yellow wires. For the full 25 volts, use the yellow wires and
cap off the black. The side with the 2 black wires is the primary, 115vac.
Also make sure that the yellow wires are connected across the rectifier
bridge terminals, not the motor terminals.
