Topic: Oh Happy Day (13 msgs / 393 lines)
1) From: Eddie Dove
This morning I got out the Krups Moka Brew. From the selection of fine
arabicas, I chose Ethiopia Organic Idido Misty Valley DP. Everything set,
turned it on and went to get ready for the day. As I was returning down the
hallway I was accosted ...
She touched my chin, I did loft
The Siren, her touch is oh so soft
From the room I did glide
It is time to go for a ride
Nature's glory in full stride
From this day, not even the moon could hide
With hues of blue the sky is flush
Depth provided by the Painter's brush
Highway eleven I must ride
Off into the great divide
Travel I did far from the shore
Picayune, Poplarvile, Wiggins and more
Without worry I did roam
A GPS to guide me home
Along the trails I did follow
Endlessly admiring Heaven's hollow
Platens of glass among the scape
With the flick of a fin they did break
Are those butterflies along the path?
No, they're daisies, for in the sun they basque
What new color can nature offer?
The vision of a cloudless sulphur
Miles and time, they did not matter
What is the meaning of the latter?
Whoa to the iron beast
It is time to travel to the east
To my abode I did glide
The Siren, she is again by my side
Y'all gotta git dis coffee !!!!!

What churnings of the mind can be inspired by a simple cup of Tom's
homeroasted coffee! Well done! That coffee set me ablaze as well. I'm
interested to contrast that one to the Lekempti I just got!

Oy vey. If the Misty Valley is THAT good in a Moka Brew, I can't
imagine how amazing it must be as an Americano (based on a triple
shot). Must roast some in the morning.

Jeremy,
Did you ever try the Lekempti? To what roast level? What did you think?

Eddie,
I did try the Lekempti. I roasted it to a C+, thinking I would get more of
the fruit flavors at that roast level. However, I didn't get nearly as much
fruit as I was expecting. However, this was coming off a batch of Idido
Misty Valley, and so my taste buds had been spoiled by fruit already. It was
a little bit of a funky cup, though, and it was fruity. I got a bit of an
earthy straw taste with it as well. If I were you I would try roasting to a
FC. That's what I plan to do next time I roast it. Jeremy
