Anyone else planning on attending the SCAA NWRBC in Portland this coming
weekend?http://www.nwbarista.com/Kona Konnaisseur miKe mcKoffee

miKe,
I'm going to try to make it. I'm not sure about a couple of other
possible committments. What is you're schedule going to be?

Won't know schedule until Thursday evening after the judge's certification
workshop and testing. Plan to be there all comp' rounds Friday through
Sunday's finals whether judging, volunteer runner etc. or just spectator
depending on event needs. (I'll have my cell phone with me, possibly
laptop.) Also plan on attending each evening's after competition affairs
further getting to know and be known within the NW specialty coffee and
espresso scene.

miKe,
If things work out and I make it to the shindig, I'll touch base with
you via cell.

I am thinking about attending a portion of the NW Barista
Competition. It will be my first official "geek" affair and I plan
to drag my coffee-loving but non-geek husband along for company. Any
recommendations on the best day/time to attend?
Alison

No recommendations on best, depends on what you want to get out of it or
see! Show up first thing Friday morning, find Michelle, and ask about
volunteering to help as a runner etc. and I'd suspect you'd get "the most"
out of attending. See schedule for times etc.http://www.nwbarista.com/schedule.htmThe later rounds will of course only
have the better barista who scored well in the preliminary rounds, with the
top six finalists competing Sunday.
