Topic: Yet Another Tradition Offering (27 msgs / 895 lines)
1) From: Jeremy DeFranco
Hello list members. Hello Lurkers (it might actually be time to come out of
the woodwork...) This tradition offerring that I decided to give is NOT for
those who hit the order button once every one or two or three weeks. This
Offerring is for the "needy" ONLY! This offering is ONLY for those that wish
to buy coffee much more often than they actually click the order button. I
want this offering to go to someone who truly NEEDS green beans. That
excludes all of you out there with stashes. Again, this is truly for the
"needy". I am offering free (shipping paid for), fresh, green beans from my
stash in order to ensure that they get roasted before going bad. Again, the
goal is to get these beans roasted....sooner rather than later. This
Offering is not for those with stashes. I guarantee that all beans are less
than 7 months of age. All beans willl be shipped vaccum packed as well. I
want to help you, because I have excess beans. If you qualify, and are
interested, shoot me an email. I may ship to more than one person. I have
not yet decided upon the amount to give away. It all depends on the number
of responses I get, and the amount of beans I want to give away. Beans
shipped will be whatever I choose at the moment. Again, if you don't need
beans, don't email me. This offering is for the desparate/broke/idealists
only!I In your email, give a breif explanation as to why I should pick you.
This will help your chances dramatically. Doesn't have to be long, just a
good reason....Finally, I will choose when this offerring ends, and at this
time I will notify the list. Good luck, and BEGIN!!!!

It sucks being in Iraq (well actually, sometimes it fun, but don't tell my
wife) - but it really really really really sucks being in Iraq during the
upcoming holiday season. The good chaplain is roasting coffee for the
Marine of 3/2 and others. Let them have good coffee - the crap the get in
the chow hall is nasty, I know first hand.

when the Waschers and several other folks sent me coffee and other great
stuff ( I am still hooked on dates from the Waschers package!).
Also the chaplain will pass along ANYTHING you might want to send - cigars
are huge there, dried fruit, phone cards etc - all of those kinds of items
are key this time of year. He was asking for syrups, cups and other stuff
besides green beans.

Yes, they sure do! I would love to enter my name and receive some free

I'm broke right now... but they are sacrificing so much for all of us. I
think they deserve it a heck of a lot more than I do!!!
I'd rather have you send all of your extras to our service men and women

I'd throw in that most of us (I hope) aren't holding down the fort at home.
I know a few women who are doing single mother duty, along with their normal
responsibilities, while their husbands are off in Iraq. If anybody needs a
good strong cup of coffee it's them! (I know I'd be hard pressed to handle
the kids, the house, and my workload on my own without knowing that my
husband will be home in a few hours and I can take a break!)

Last year when I was in Iraq my unit acted VERY un Marine like and did not
bother to check in on my wife - or bother to invite her to the Birthday
ball, the Christmas Party - NADA. (I work in a command that is 70% civilian
and only 30% Marines...sigh)
So your message got my ire up again today and I sent the commands Sergeant
Major a note that I would volunteer to call the spouses of our deployed
Marines at Thanksgiving and Christmas this year and suggesting that the
Command invite them to the Christmas party, Ball etc... I only hope they
take action, and provide me a list of the names and phone numbers to call.
Thanks, and you are correct - I have been deployed to some nasty party of
the Middle East in 2004, 05 and 06, over every holiday and birthday at least
once, most twice.
My wife has/had it MUCH hard then I did.
