Topic: Guatemala Fraijanes - Finca Aqua Tibia (11 msgs / 138 lines)
1) From: Eddie Dove
I just finished roasting the Guatemala Fraijanes - Finca Aqua Tibia to a
City+ and I certainly hope that the brew lives up to the expectations set by
the intoxicating roast aroma and a chomped bean. I believe it was the smell
and taste of red grape skins. What have all of you thought of this coffee?

I have been roasting a lot of Bourbon cultivars recently and this is
one of the really enjoyable ones. I have only done the Agua Tibia to a
light roast also, but it had lots of chocolate flavors at that level.

Another one of those hidden gems. This is one that is way underrated. If
my stash was under control, I would be getting more of this stuff! I was a
big Panama fan because of the old cultivators. It seems as if they have
moved to Guatemala! I didn't buy Guatemala coffees for a long time until
this year. Tom had found some really good coffee there this year.

Concur with Eddie - we've just finished our first roasted lb. of Africa
Highlands WP and found it an excellent coffee (decaf or not). Was my
first decaf, selected it solely on Tom's aggregate cupping score. Made
me eager to explore SM's other decaf offerings.

We like it too. I made it for friends at Church, and there went my stash.
So, THAT's why I have the Fraijanes coming in....

Brett,
I got my brown box today. No decaf. No Finca Agua Tibia (got bumped
for the new Kenya arrival). My wife just mentioned that it would be
nice to start having decaf after dinner.
Only 3lbs of decaf in the stash. Hmmm.....

I like your strategy.
