Topic: SO espresso (18 msgs / 364 lines)
1) From: TINK1969
Hello All,

Another lurker exposed in the light of day.
It is time for me to augment my green bean stash and I was hoping for some
suggestions for SO espresso.
I am roasting with an iRoast2, grinding with Rocky and pulling shots with
Miss Sylvia.

Thanks!
Kim

Kim,
Welcome to the Limelight!
I would recommend the Ethiopia Organic Idido Misty Valley DP, but I don't
want anyone else to buy anymore until I get my order in. Let us know what
you get and how it turns out!

Hi Kim,
I would agree with Eddie on the Ethiopia Organic Idido Misty Valley
DP. I did a 50/50 mix, half roasted City+ and the other half Full
City+, very good. I also like the Yemen Mokha Sana'ani as an S.O.
roasted Full City+.

I'm currently doing the Uganda Organic Bugisu as a SO espresso. Love
it.

The best SO on the list right now in my not so humble opinion is the Uganda
Bugisu and the Brazil Yellow Bourbon. The Idido Misty Valley is good, but
it can be a little to bright for some.

Les,
Yellow Bourbon to Full City? or do you take it into 2nd crack? Have you
tried any shots of the Idido with the Bourbon?

SO = Single Origin with respect to coffee; SO = Significant Other,
otherwise.

Thanks Tom! The stash is big enough. I take both the Brazil and the
Uganda a few snaps into second crack. I have some Yellow Bourbon
resting and will be pulling a blend of it and the Idido on Thursday.
I'll post a report.

Dave,
SO is short for Single Origin. I'm pretty sure that it means using only one
variety of beans for brewing, as opposed to a blend.

My wife has her fabric stash. One is several yards of a pseudo suede that
feels exactly like a well treated chamois. -ro

also) loves it!

At some point between French and fire, it really doesn't matter much what
the "origin character" of the coffee was...

Dennis,
Burn the first batch of Idido and share it to turn everyone off of it, then
keep the rest for yourself.

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
Ok only suedo hijacking the original topic here First I LOVE the BUG!!!!
Now for my question the Misty Valley is bright? So should I take it to a
Full City or will that mute the flavors too much? I have a lot of people
that are experiencing great coffee for the first time in there lives and
I am afraid that the brightness may turn a few off but I would really
like to get them to experience some blueberries out of this if possible.
Would love to hear what others have found (but I did get 5# of it so I
can do a bit of experimenting)
