Topic: e61 gasket removed (6 msgs / 98 lines)

Many thanks to those who offered help. Leo, after feeling over and over, I
found the lip on the shower head you spoke of and it pried off. I guess
care in always backflushing and using detergent and making sure the pf
never stays cranked down on the gasket any longer than necessary pays
off. The shower head needed a bit of cleaning, not much, and the gasket,
after 3 years and more espresso than most drink in a lifetime was
still supple and like new. I just put the new one away and put the old
one back in, no leaks, no hassle. I am amazed at how little buildup there
was in the channels and the deep dank recesses of the group.

Dan,
You lead a truly charmed life :~)

Charmed life? I dinna think so, laddie. It is just an ordinary life but
spiced with espresso, single malts and Bach...and beautiful women.

Those four things, in excess, can get you in a lot of trouble. At least
I know the Bach will.

Can you actually feel the grease buildup? How can you tell? Helper eyes? :)

Leo laddie, can't you feel a grease buildup? Maybe I have extra sensitive
fingers, I don't know, but it was obvious to me. Perhaps having to read
Braille and interpret facial expressions of those beautiful women by touch
helps, too. [grin]
