Topic: Beginner's Beans -- the winner is ... (32 lines)
1) From: Tom Maynard
Okay, I read every review of every bean mentioned -- and many more! And I have
come to my ordering decision. It is:
2 lbs Mexican FTO Chiapas Special Lot (tolerant of the widest variety of roasts)
8 lb Sampler Pack (lots of good stuff to play with!)
1 'Harvey' shipping (I'm not in any particular hurry, and shipping costs quickly
eat your lunch.)
Who knows if it's the "right" order? Who cares!? As you all have said: buying
beans from SM is never a mistake. I'll have the chance to fool around with
roast levels on a single bean, and I'll have a variety of, um, varietals to
sample from around the world. It's the best of all possible worlds (to quote
Voltaire).
I'll get to pick and choose what works for me ... and the chance to find/explore
new territory (heck, it's ALL new territory for a noob!). I can't wait to get
started.
Thank you all for your valued and valuable insights. I only hope that as I
improve my skills and experience I can help boost some other newbie along as
you all have done for me.
I'll report my progress along my journey.
Thanks to all once again.
Tom.
