Topic: Homeroast FAQ or things your afraid to ask but cant find the answer to. (3 msgs / 58 lines)

I thought I saw this topic bandied about when I first arrived earlier
this year. There are so many acronyms, terms and definitions involved
in coffee and roasting. Is anyone interested in helping me compile
this or does it already exist somewhere and your just not telling
me....?
some of my more memorable searches which I finally found answers to...
How do you pronounce Margogype, Huehuetenango..
What is an HX machine
What is an E61 group...what is a group, why is it called a group...blah, blah
I just think it would be pretty beneficial.

what the "origin character" of the coffee was...

Gary,
Thanks for reminding of the information that is right under my nose!
I did Google these items for SM's entire site using their Advanced
Domain Search operator ( site:www.sweetmarias.com) and
found the pronunciation of Huehuetenango (waywaytenango), but no
reference to HX or E61, 94 references to Maragogype - (muh rah go jee
pay)(it helps to spell it correctly now ), but non on how to pronounce
it...My point was that it would be convenient to have a "more
compiled" FAQ. Tom himself describes his website as Labyrinthine...http://www.sweetmarias.com/weblog/?pand advanced search operators are not usually the first thing someone
thinks of using. There is a wealth of information on SM's site but I
have spent countless hours reading it. I was just trying to make it
easier for new people lurking and trying to understand things quicker
to get up and going on their homeroasting journey.
Respectfully,
Vince
