Topic: exploding brikka (3 msgs / 88 lines)

I don't know if anyone uses the Bialetti Brikka, but if you do please help.
I purchased a 2 cup Brikka and have been able to use it successfully once
out of six attempts. I also own a 4 cup Moka Express that I use regularly.
Each time I use the Brikka, it explodes coffee all over my kitchen. I assume
that I'm building up too much pressure within the boiler because I will
typically get some seepage between the top and bottom. I thought that I
wasn't screwing the pieces tight enough, but I've been sure to screw it
tightly and still get seepage.
I am using the measuring cup included with the Brikka and am not overfilling
it. I've tried lowering the amount of water and was successful only when I
use about half the cup size.
I also tried varying the level of the burner. I use between medium and
medium high for the Moka and started there for the Brikka. I've reduced the
temperature down to low and it's still exploding.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Happy day,
John.
