Topic: New Zach's coffee roaster? (6 msgs / 213 lines)

Hi Everyone,
Well, if you're waiting for the new Zach and Danny's
coffee roaster I think you can forget it.
It seems that the Zach has been rebranded to the Nesco
CB-10000PRP coffee roaster. Most all of the places that
carried the Zach roaster how has it as the Nesco roaster.
Does that mean a new Zach's....who knows. But it
definitely looks like the past unit is no more by them.

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
I was hoping to see one with a better lid lock and a larger chamber...

Yes, a larger chamber would have been nice, also the
ability to profile and store a profile would have been
nice. They did make a change though, here is the current
ad from a place that sells it.
The Nesco Pro is a rugged Wisconsin made, smoke free
roaster, it is an excellent choice for home roasting!
Comes with a one year warranty (Zach and Dani was 6
months) and with improved roasting that produces better
tasting coffee in a shorter time.
Now distributed and warranted directly by a major
manufacturer, Nesco of Two Rivers, Wisconsin.
Oh well, now have to wait to see if the Gene Cafe becomes
digital.

Your more than welcome for the info Dennis (and anyone
else who might like it). After all, we are all more or
less in the same boat/ship.... getting the best for our
needs at the amount we can truly afford.
I have two Zach's, a Bravi, and a Gene Cafe. I use them
all. For me each has their strong points and meet
varying roasting needs. I tend to use the Zach for all
decafs, as my wife only drinks about a 4 cup pot a day. I
have no problem at all getting dark roasts with it unlike
what some people say. I tend to use the Bravi for darker
roasts that is those from FC+ to Vienna as I can hear
second crack easily and I like the type of roast it does
for darker roasts.. For the rest I tend to stick to the
Gene Cafe as I'm still getting used to it (can't hear
second crack at all and only first on a few origins).
The Gene Cafe is what I use to evaluate roast levels for
most coffee's with for the first few roasts. After that
I pick the machine I feel is the best from there. Still
looking to get a roaster with a capacity of at least 3
pounds finish roast for selling coffee when I retire next
year.

Hmmm... I wonder if faster is better for a Z&D I have found that the one
I have seems to have a decient roast profile ( I am running between 20
and 22 min roasts currently)
Thanks for the INFO!
