Topic: As a new i-Roast2 owner I have a few questions (2 msgs / 44 lines)

Hello,
As a new member to the list and as a new i-Roast 2 owner I have a few
questions about assembling the roaster. I hope that someone can help me
with this.
1) During the first roasts I apparently had not locked the chaff
collector correctly to the roasting pot, resulting in leakage of the
chaff and of heat of course.
I noticed that I have to push the chaff collector assembly a little more
firmly on the pot when turning and locking it. After doing so however,
should there be a space of around 1-1,5 mm between the pot handle and
the part of the chaff collector that is above the pot handle (thus where
the arrows are) ? Or should I lock it so that there is almost no space
? I ask because I can do it both ways.
2) When I have locked the lid on the chaff collector there is still some
play when I try to turn/move this lid, although it doesn't come loose
(unless I apply some force of course)
Is this "normal" or should there be a very tight fit and no play at all ?
Thanks in advance.
Ton

Ton,
If I am understanding correctly I believe:
1) you "should lock it so that there is almost no space"
2) the play you describe is normal
BTW - I found getting the roaster compartment attached to the unit to
be initially very difficult. It does get easier with usage.
Hope this helps.
