Topic: Is my i-Roast 2 faulty ? (3 msgs / 47 lines)
1) From: Ton van Rijn
When I did my first roasts with the i-Roast 2, a week ago, I noticed
that the (fan) speed was considerably variable, going up and down. Under
FAQ's on the i-Roast website,I already found that this is normal behaviour.
However the last few days I have the impression that the speed is rather
constant and hardly changing, except when cooling of course. Could this
be normal or is my i-Roast 2 maybe faulty ?
Btw, the roasting results are not bad, but I am still a newbie.

Ton,
I had one of my iRoasts (I'm on my third, fortunately under warranty)
stay at a constant fan speed through the whole roast, it would always
be on the high speed, and therefore never get hot enough, so you
could have a defective unit.
If you roast outside, it could also be due to the colder ambient air
temp. it never gets hot enough to go to the higher fan speed (if it
seems stuck on the slow speed).
Hearthware does seem to have some quality issues, so defective units
are not unheard of.

Thanks Mike.
No I am not roasting outside. The ambient temperature in my kitchen is
around 18* C, or 68* F. I will keep an eye on it and contact my dealer
when it stays like that.
