Topic: Holiday Coffee, second year running (6 msgs / 90 lines)
1) From: PAUL RIFKIN
I have been forbidden by wife from grinding and
serving freshroast to our guests at our annual holiday
party.
Something about acting like a Coffee Nazi. "You must
drink this within the first minutes of brewing or it
will lose its aromatics."
She is quite right of course. I was ordered to use the
opened can of Maxwell House decaf that had been used
in a perk urn at last years party.
The compromise this year - I was allowed to brew the
stuff in the Presto and use a gold filter. One
advantage certainly was I didn't have to deal with
masses of released CO2.
The results. Complements on the excellent coffee
served. I did notice that the folks who said that were
the cream and sugar users and the sugar bowl was empty
at evenings end.
By the way, there is a rumor going around, that this
year Santa will be putting Starbucks beans in lieu of
coal into the stockings of bad children.
Happy holidays.

If I were you, I'd sneak your own coffee into that Maxwell House can! :)

Are you sure you haven't defiled your Presto and gold filter to the extent
of needing Les' help?

Sheila,
I used to do that to my sister-in-law. I did it 3 years in a row for
Thanksgiving. Barbara always said, "wow" they must have a special holiday
blend. This year she finally got with the program and bought Stumptown.
