Topic: Spicey winter blend by mistake? (3 msgs / 71 lines)
1) From: Leo Zick
Roasted this last weekend in my new sc/to setup. Man, it makes life easy
roasting in there! Im still playing with roast times, but managed to get
this one to 15mins at a c+/fc roast, just shy of 2nd crack I think.
Im trying to finish off a bunch of beans, I used:
1/3 cup mexican chiapas
1/3 cup brazil yellow bourbon
1/3 cup guat maria especial
1/2 cup la minita
Its nice and mellow, with this lingering fruity spice undertone. Great smell
too! Not sure if it was a mistake, but I think I like it!

"Tastes"/sounds like a very good Americano or cappuccino shot! Probably a
bit out of balance on the bright side for well balanced straight shot.
Though I'd wager pulling a hair higher than "normal" (~200f middle of the
road standard) temp ristretto would be quite yummy;-)

I havent tried as a shot, only press pot, but yes, it is bright, maybe that
adds to the perceived spiceyness? :)
Ill have to test other ways today if its not too late when im home..
