Hi All,
After several years of home roasting with a Hottop, and being semi =
retired, I'm toying with the idea of doing some commercial roasting. Not =
a large quantity mind you, maybe 25 to 50 lbs per week. Possibly to be =
sold at local farmers markets, restaurants, etc? At first I contemplated =
getting a Diedrich IR3 roaster, but at $10,000 that is a substantial =
investment without a known customer base. Now I'm thinking an RK Drum =
with the commercial upgrades might be the way to go in the beginning.
Does anyone know of someone who might have tried a similar venture? =
Living here in Sonoma County would make it easy for me to pick up beans =
at Sweet Marias.  And does anyone know if SM sells their beans at =
wholesale to small business?
