Topic: Great coffee in Las Vegas-Off Topic, well kind of. (4 msgs / 65 lines)
1) From: Jay
I'm in Las Vegas next week, any suggestions for a great coffee
shop/roaster would be appreciated. Of course there is the power of
Google, but then again, there is more energy in this group and a
wealth of experience.
Feel free to list post or email me at: jcohen1005

BTW, the days will be spent in Red Rock Canyon, the evenings in great
ethnic restaurants and have no intention of stepping foot into a
casino.

Hi Jay,
As a 17 year resident of LV I can assure you that this city is a wasteland
for good coffee. The only decent shop is The Whole Bean, Flamingo and Valley
View area. They are one of only two roasters in this town, and in fact
operate a Sivetz and a coupla drums. Any luck and I'll become the third
commercial roaster in Vegas!
Will be in San Francisco next week, otherwise I'd have you over and drum
roast a couple lbs.
Have fun, supposed to warm up next few days. Three inches snow Sunday night!

When I go to Vegas I bring a hotpot, French press, Zass and Thermos. I limit
my sessions at the poker table until the Thermos is empty. Then go up to my
room and refill the Thermos before sitting down again. Never had a complaint
from food and beverage dept or poker room manager. Good luck come back with
enough for a Brewtus.

That's what they all say... :-)
