Topic: Ultrasonic Cleaning (39 lines)

Hello everyone:
Just got an idea today that actually worked very well so thought Id
share it.
Normally when my swiss gold's start stalling or need a good thump upside
the head to drain right, I know it's well past time for a really good
cleaning.
Normally I soak the thing in a bowl of hot water with that "brew rite"
cleaner in it. (you can use any appropriate cleaner you wish, I know
what the chemical really is they use so just buy it in bulk at a chem
supply house since I can use it for other stuff as well). After about
3 or 4 hours I scrub it with a soft toothbrush and it cleans up fairly well.
Tonight I was cleaning some stuff I found with my metal detector with my
ultrasonic cleaner and got an idea. Why not try it with my swiss gold,
see how it works.
I filled the US cleaner with hot water, and added my coffee filter
cleaner to it, turned it on and in about 5 minutes it did what normally
would take a good few hours of soaking and scrubbing gently with a small
brush.
I took the filter out, gave it a very gentle brushing under running
water to remove the loosened gungus on it, and it's as good as new.
This isn't one of those fancy ultrasonic cleaners either it was the 'on
sale' on e at harbor freight that ran about thirty bucks.
Well worth the money Id say if anyone is interested and they are good
for other stuff as well.
Aaron
