Topic: Hottop & Veriac (2 msgs / 35 lines)

I have tried using the profiles mentioned last week with the Hottop
and a veriac running the voltage up to 125 - 130 v until the first
crack.... doing this my second generation digital will dump the beans
out in the middle of the first crack much to my dismay. Anyone else
having success using the veriac with the digital hottop with higher
voltage than 120? I have no problems with the roast prematurely
dumping using voltage in the 110 - 120 volt range.
  Thanks... Brock

That's curious.
I did three roasts after reading those messages last week, with no-load
voltage at 130, and then dropping to 110 at the beginning of first crack.
I had no problems with it and it did seem to finish my FC roasts about a
minute earlier than without the Variac.
It certainly didn't do an automatic eject - I can only expect that would
happen if the temperature sensor thinks the internal temp is too high.
Are you using a thermometer probe and if so, what did it indicate at the
time it ejected?
