I would think a 4 year old would keep you busy enough without doing anything else!
I worked for awhile for a 3-rd tier consulting firm in their Los Angeles offices. We had to fire a project manager and they asked me to take over the project. Almost 100 miles each way in L.A. rush hour traffic. I was spending 6 hours a day just driving. I asked to stay in a hotel nearby but they said that's too expensive. After a week of this I decided that life is too short so I quit that job.
I'm much happier working for myself as a consultant than I could be working for someone else. The commute is even shorter than Dennis' is, about 20 seconds from the kitchen to the office upstairs. The downside is that I'm always looking for that next consulting gig. I also end up traveling a lot, which cuts down on the roasting time. One of these days I'll have to figure out how to get the best results from my Aeropress. Just gotta play with it enough.
After I got tired doing all the routine maintenance on my cars, I decided to just pay someone else to do that. Besides, working on cars now isn't as much fun as it was back in the '70s. Too many electronics. Got into woodworking a few years back and now have a great excuse for new toys ("But dear, I really need that new router to finish the living room cabinet").
