To those who've roasted the Panama Hacienda La Esmeralda Gesha and the
Idido Misty Valley, how much rest should each of these beans be
allotted?

Give a person a fish and feed them for a day. Teach a person to fish and
they won't be back tomorrow asking for another fish!
Have you tried searching the (searchable) digest archives?http://themeyers.org/HomeRoast/index.htmTry "gesha rest" etc and see what comes up. I know this was discussed just a
few weeks ago and other times before that.

miKe,
You're right, I should have looked there first. My apologies.

According to the archives, Les likes it day 4-7, Jeff likes it day4-6, and
Mike found it good on day 3.5, but better on day 4, expecting good results
thru day 7.
MNy archives are just plain searching with Google on my own gmail account.
If you'd like the resource that won't go away (gmail) then send me a message
offlist, and you can lookup the answer too in your own email archive...

Thanks Brett and Mike. I completely forgot about the searchable
archives. I'm roasting the Gesha this afternoon and will begin to
enjoy it on Monday (2.5 days rest so I can profile it and post to my
blog).

Kevin -
Glad you posted this - I have some Gesha that I almost forgot about.
Well, didn't totally forget, just that moving & all that goes w/it was
the main priority. Now I'm feeling more at home, here, and have roasted
a couple of batches on my new stove - perhaps I'm ready to roast the
Gesha.
I admit, my fear of ruining it has made me delay this a bit. But I'll
roast mine soon...

I like it at 14 hours -- roasted yesterday evening and into the vac
pot this morning.
