Topic: Trade Poppery 2 for Roasted Beans - 2 (9 msgs / 161 lines)
1) From: Larry Williams
OK, I guess swapping for roasted beans wasn't such a good deal after
all. Does anyone want the popper? I"ll even take money. Whats it worth?

Hey Larry, find a popper on eBay similar to yours, and "watch" it until it
sells.
This should give you a market price...

There is also some way on ebay to look up past sales of an item ...

Larry,
Just a suggestion.
If you have a friend in your neighborhood, why not invite him or her over
and give them a roasting class using the Poppery 2. Then you can just give
it to them, and hopefully convert them to the home roasting fold.
You never know what will happen, but it's worth a try.

eBay shows 1 ending within the next 24 hours - current price is $20...
If you get a neighbor into roasting, you can buy in bulk - lowering your
bean price by $1 per pound at least. How many pounds do you think you will
roast this year? That's what I thought, enough to save you a bundle and
make you an evangelist for Sweet Maria's. I know, Tom is incredibly subtle,
almost diabolical....
Just don't touch MY stash!

I live about 1 1/2 hrs from Sweet Marias by car so I will be making a
trip there soon to buy some beans and see the store. Can't wait!

My mom lives in Discovery Bay and my sister lives in Brentwood - somewhat
near you... wish I was THAT close to Sweet Marias... OTOH I have no
traffic, and Winter Snows have bypassed Iowa this year....

I used to live in Brentwood (my wife was a lifelong resident until I drug
her to Texas), I sure do miss the fresh fruit and veggies out there. I am
Back in Texas and love it but miss the produce. I wish I would have been
roasting when I was that close to SM. It would have been neat to visit.
