Hi,
I stopped at another KMart here in Columbia SC today and did a price check
on a Presto Scandinavian Design drip machine. That store IS selling them for
the price Brett mentioned, $18.77 (though the display sign said something
like $40...). These machines are nowhere near the machine that Technivorm
is, and some people have complained about a lack of durability with these
machines. Their strong point is that they are one of the very few drip
machines that can heat water to 200 degrees.

I just bought the last Presto S at our Kmart yesterday for $18.77. I had =
bought one a few weeks ago and liked it. I figured since it's not a high =
quality machine that I should get to put in storage. I still want a TV =
someday but this will have to do for now.

Exactly what I did (except I got mine for $17/ea. after Xmas sale).
I've been pleased with the results. This machine (and the spare after
this one craps out) will hold me over til I save up enough for a TV.

Most of the time I'm only making coffee for me, so I use either a Santos
mini electric vac-pot, or a moka pot. Sometimes though I need to be able to
make coffee for more people, and I hate to compromise my coffee, just
because I have to make more. So I just stopped at the local KMart and picked
up a Presto Scandinavian. The shelf price was 24.99, but it rang up at 20.00.
There was at least 1 more on the shelf.
