Topic: Newbie intro here... (3 msgs / 91 lines)
1) From: Silvia Marsh
In addition to the Costa Rican Peaberry, I got a Congo Kivu Peaberry, a
Mexico Chiapas, a Guatamala Quiche (La Perla Estate), and a Panama Los
Lajones. I've only roasted the two peaberries so far, and the Costa Rican
seems to be my favorite.
I think the sampler packs are going to be an excellent learning tool for
me...I get to try several different varieties without killing my wallet
completely. ;) I really think Sweet Maria's is going to end up with my
paychecks from now on...

Not sure what the list etiquette is on first postings, so I'll keep this
short to avoid any possible problems. ;) I put the OT simply because I'm not
really getting into any roasting specifics and figured it couldn't hurt to
be safe. *grin*
I'm brand new to the roasting thing; got a Freshroast Plus about three weeks
ago from a friend who upgraded to a Gene Cafe. She also shared some of her
bean stash with me and I have been having a ball with it. I got my first
shipment of pretty pretty green beans from Sweet Maria's last Friday.
As seems to be the standard response for beginning roasters, I'm now hooked,
so I joined this mailing list to learn more about my newest obsession.
I'm sure I'll have lots of dunderheaded questions for you all. Fair warning!
:)
