Topic: Selling my LOT of Cory Vacuum Brewers on eBay (20 msgs / 410 lines)
1) From: Brett Mason
Hi Friends,
I have been collecting Cory Vacpots for a couple years. Well, I need space,
so I am selling my LOT. OK, I am keeping one for me, the one I bought NIB
two years ago - still love the coffee from it...
Here's the eBay item if you wish to take a peek: 200070656157
For fun, I placed the cost at $5, and shipping based upon 24"x24"x16" box...
Best regards,
Brett

SO there's 2 hours left on my lot of Cory vacpots... 5 vacpots and it's not
above $20... I am thinking of pulling the offer as no longer available, and
then working to sell the vacpots individually....
Thoughts?

Oh, man!
You're tearing my heart out here. :-) I have been reminding myself over and
over again that I'm in the process of packing to move and it's time to get
rid of some of my own coffee paraphernalia. I have absolutely no business
adding more. I simply can't.
IF I get into a place with enough kitchen space, I'll be looking for more
vac pots in another month or so.
Good luck,
Bill

Won't let me cancel the auction - too late in the auction to do so.... :-(
Who knows, maybe someone will surprise me with final bidding at the end....
Or not and I lose a bunch...

Personally I find that type of action by a seller is what can give the Ebay
marketplace a bad name. Just my opinion.

Me too... But with about 80 into the vacpots, watching a lot die at 16 was
pretty tough too....

Went for $52 - good value to the buyer, and good payment to me as well....
Mike good point. OTOH, that option is part of eBay, and if an item has low
traction, the seller has choices in front of them, legitimately part of the
eBay system....

Where have you been? Of course they will- the Shaft for other would-be
bidders, and the seller too because the Sniper stifles any genuine bidding.
Only Imbeciles would encourage the exasperating practice, yet eBay does
exactly that. Or that was true in the past when I last made a purchase
because of eBay.
I tried to get the Mazzer Major. The "auction" turned into a farce in the
last seven seconds- Three Times- because of people that had no history of
coffee-related purchases in their eBay life. I handled it a different way.
I got the Major for a price I considered fair. Not as cheap as a few have,
but I got it for less than 100 more than I had sunk in my SMP, including the
new burrs.

18) From: Aaron
Brett, if you didn't want them to go at a possibly low price you should
have put a reserve price on them.
Thats the chance we take when we bid on E bay is that someone is not
interested and the stuff goes real cheap. Pulling the auction because
you didnt get the price *you* thought it was worth is pretty lame. If
you wanted more $$$ you should have started the auction at a higher
minimum bid.
To be honest, once a bid is in, I don't think you can pull it off unless
there's a significant problem, ie the item got broke, it's not in the
shape you originally described it, etc etc.
Live and learn, but don't sleaze out and pull the auction.

20) From: Brett Mason
Rich, that is a very good point. With the concern over seals and gaskets,
the Cona is a terrific option to consider. Vacuum brewed coffee is a
delectable treat, perhaps the best brewed coffee ever. Friends on this list
should consider these for that special occasion - like any day that has a
morning you want to start out right!
Tom offers several options here - check out the page:http://www.sweetmarias.com/prod.brewers.vacuum.shtmlRegards,
