Ok, you guys. Tom buried this in a reply about some beans, but I knew you
all would want to know:
"Okay, I'll bury this little announcement here in this post ...
Brasils aren't the main thing on my mind; Maria gave birth to our
first child on Saturday early AM. Maybe I'll put a little something
in the weblog when we have decided on a name, but we are both pretty
tired and , well, very happy. Considering we are not the youngest
parents out there, and Maria's MS, I have been pretty nervous. But
he's a healthy little guy, and surprisingly placid, content and quiet
(although I am sure that will change ... or could we possibly be one
of the lucky ones?) We are taking our time with the names. Anyway,
just wanted to make a low key announcement to the list...
Tom"

Well I was so excited for you I accidentally hit the send button before I
meant to! Again, congratulations! Having three children of my own I know
how exciting this must be for you, and how tiring! I have been so busy I
haven't been able to keep up with everthing on the list, but I'm glad I
didn't miss this! I hope you are all doing well and are getting some rest.

Placid and quiet - we've had two of four that were definitely placid and
quiet. The first was a handful for the first 6 weeks, and we're still
figuring it out with 2 moth old today #4.
Tom and Maria, I heartily offer you my best, dad to new mom and dad!
Grace & Peace to all three,
Jason

Congrats Tom and Maria. I was once told there isn't a convenient time

Wow, a suprise indeed! Tom, I'd sure trust you with a secret any time,
anywhere. Congratulations to you both you and Maria. Enjoy the
ride...every stage is amazing and exhausting. I hope you have a Baby Bjorn
backpack already. Babies love to sit nestled next to your heart and your
hands are FREE! I got my granddaughter's on ebay. This is just the
beginning of the advice that will be coming your way.
Take care,
Ann
P.S. Google knew we were talking about babies as all the ads on the side
where about all the things to buy for them.

Tom and Maria,
Congratulations and welcome to the world of sleep deprivation! My
wife and I have a 3 mos. old at home, it's well worth the sleep
deprivation when the little guy begins to recognize you and smiles at
you for the first time! Absolute magic! Enjoy the infancy stage b/c
it goes by in the blink of an eye!

Can't have too many Congratulations! As the dad of a 5-month old, the best
advice we recieved was for mommy to "sleep whenever the baby sleeps".
A little baby the most extraordinary thing in the world. And you both have
such a wonderful world to share with your child, you are both wonderful
people, running an amazing company, traveling the world, and with an amazing
community of people around you. Truly blessed. Congrats again,
Craig in Marin
