When does a banana taste like grapes? I was sitting here after lunch,
munching on a banana and sipping a cup of vacuum pot coffee (Colombia
CoE Hacienda La Virginia, FC) and it was the weirdest experience. I'm eating
banana but I'm tasting tasting grapes and chocolate big time! What's wrong
with this picture? Then it hit me that this coffee - which was pretty
ordinary yesterday (day 1) was tasting incredibly fruity/grapey/chocolatey
today (day 2). And it mostly came at a cooling temperature in the middle,
not as noticeable above or below that band. Often food overpowers the taste
of coffee. Here's one case of the opposite.
BTW it's a rich bittersweet chocolate, just on the edge of too much.
Perhaps the kind you want to savor in small quantities rather than a sweeter
chocolate you might want to gobble up quickly. If you're a dark chocolate
lover, this is for you!
Enjoy your coffee.
