I agree Panama Gesha is in a class by itself and quite atypical for Panama
coffees.
OTH I disagree that Carmen Estate is what I'd call a classic "great" Panama.
It's high Catuai content destroys it for me. I'd say the Boquete Maunier
with it's Caturra-Typica-Bourbon is much more a classic Panama. Just a few
years ago you never saw a Catuai Panama doing well in the Best of Panama
cuppings, guess the judges palates have changed what they are looking for in
a Panama. I tried to like the Carmen Estate Catuai for almost two years all
kinds of different roasts, gave up. Since other Catuai coffees don't float
my boat at all either came to the obvious conclusion not to ever buy Catuai
coffees again.

Gesha is in a class by itself, more of a clean Yirg than a Panama.
Caman Estate is very good and more typical of a great Panama.
