Topic: A request for Tom - swissgold one cup. (10 msgs / 194 lines)
1) From: Tom & Maria - Sweet Maria's Coffee
Well, the main problem is that Swiss Gold changed their USA
distributor, and then they dropped the One Cup Brewer. After a while,
I went straight back to SwissGold to ask about it, but they say it
was no longer being manufactured. I thought about begging, but
frankly we could never, ever buy enough to make it worthwhile for
them to reintroduce it. I should check with them again though,
because sometimes products have a way of "reappearing"

Thanks for the reply Tom. Don't go through all the bother if it is
going to be that much of a hastle. Suprising thing though is that you
are not the only place that sells coffee stuff, between all of you, I
don't see how they can say, not enough business, as the SG's do seem to
be popular.
Again thanks for looking into it.

Hope this isn't veering OT but they used to make a larger version for
a pot of coffee. It was almost the same as the One Cup but more angled
at the bottom. They quit making that quite a while ago. Somebody I know
online bought one off eBay for a decent price so I would imagine it's
worth looking for there. The One Cup seems pretty sturdy so if the
seller can be trusted and it has good pictures it shouldn't be much of
a gamble.

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
If someone /really /wants this product, you can find various sellers
online who sell them, often with a mug as part of the package. You
won't get SM's $10.95 price, as they seem to range about $17. Try
searching Google

for it.

The $10.95 costs $7.95 more for shipping. It's better to buy the one
you mentioned, plus a book and get the total up to $25 then use
their Free Super Shipping. If you're like me, there is always another
book to buy :)

Mine's on its way. Thanks for the link, Dave!

Yeah! Isn't that a great excuse to buy something extra. My wishlist is
always ready for that. But in this case I'd buy a few of the filters to
bring the price up. When I give coffee as a gift for special occasions I
make up a little package with the coffee, a swissgold filter, and Tom's
review of the coffee and instructions on brewing.

I bought a lot of books & CDs that way! But I decided to join their =
Prime
program. It's turned out even better than I thought. Anything sold by =
Amazon
itself gets free 2 day shipping; 1 day shipping is something like an =
extra $4
(although I've seen in for only $2 on a book). You can share the =
membership
with something like 4 others. Perhaps the best part is there's no need =
to
accumulate items to make a larger order; you can purchase a single $5 =
item &
2nd day shipping is still free! Amazon makes out well too, since this
encourages me to buy even more stuff from them than I otherwise would!
BTW, Amazon also has pretty good prices on FoodSaver bags!
