In humans, it is 50-80 mg/kg. In rats where they actually had test subjects that could die, it is pegged at 75 mg/kg. This translates to 3-5 grams of caffeine in an average human. Somewhere in the ballpark of 40 double espressos at one setting, or two gallons of coffee. Something like 1.5 lbs of coffee turned into drinks.
