Seems a number of people have recently gotten Rockys. (or at least seems so
with the latest posts of removing finger guard}
Tim Eggers posted a simple inexpensive way to make Rocky stepless on HB

What's the fear or big deal? Simply making the SS body to the hopper a snug
fit. Sure if someone was an idiot they could tighten too much and crack the
hopper...

Mine was a risk/reward scenario...
I love how Rocky does already....
Besides, the 8" Craftsman "C" Clamp was the wrong color for our kitchen...

maybe the Black and decker auto adjusting black and orange would be a good
fit around Halloween time.

Just upgrated to a macap stepless. I cant believe I never just bought this
to start, and first went with the tranquilo (rockys cousin imo), then the
QM. My coffee 'tuning' is infinately better..

Mine is enroute via UPS. Getting so impatient I need to have a few more esp=
ressos just to calm down!

What really impressed me compared to the M=
azzer Mini is that I like the doser much better and I prefer the on/off swi=
tch rather than the timer - just one more thing that could need premature r=
eplacement.

$300 grinder.
My Solis M+ was a $200 grinder by the time I realized the grinder is the
deal breaker in making excellent coffee. The grinder is capable of wrecking
good beans or getting fabulous coffee from good beans.
Karen, my Celtic Critic, OK'd the Mahlkoenig VTA 6S if I'd quit bellyaching
about grinders ever again- "Just make friends with the Bronco for a couple
more years!"
I had been in contact with Mahlkoenig about a show grinder with the same
warranty as new.
"Only one problem- it has a 208 volt three phase motor. You couldn't run it
on residential power."
I was ready to give him my card number, since I put together a 5.6 Kva
rotary phase converter about 20 years ago. Just have to change it from 240
delta to 208 Wye connection. I was almost chomping at the bit because I
remembered the whine the dummy motor made as it started up.
Happily, I remembered a Heads-up posting earlier from miKe about Mazzers on
eBay.
That saved me from a real blunder - ! The Major is 0.6 inch shorter, half
the weight and has 2/3 the footprint of the VTA 6S.
How close. Of course, then both our jobs evaporated...
