Topic: My OFCD will take over this year. (10 msgs / 288 lines)
1) From: George
Since I have OFCD (Obsessive Compulsive Caffeine Disorder), I have plann=
ed out my major projects for this year.
This Spring upon moving the =
washer, dryer into
a separate room and putting in a new furnace and hot w=
ater filter system and hot water heater with them. I will change the old l=
aundry room into a second kitchen in basement and
coffee roasting area. =
The room is approx 16' x 12' with a chimney to
use for power venting of =
roasting machine(s). The coffee roasting area
will be beside a full size=
refrigerator and a full size freezer. it will
be made of about 8' of dra=
wer above shelf kitchen base cabinets. This
will be for storing misc roa=
sting equipment in the drawers, and the
roasters, a bean cooler and the g=
reen coffee beans. There will be a
top unit that will roast 3 lbs at a t=
ime hooked to the chimney to exit
the smoke after the afterburner does it=
's job. On the opposite wall
will be a 5' stainless top sink. a gas stov=
e and the remander of the
wall will be kitchen base cabinets with kitche=
n top cabinets above them
for the full length minus the basement window. =
In mid to late Summer, when I retire, I will be building a new =
coffee
bar will be made in the cellar family room, approximately 14' x 22=
',
that will be about 12' long. On back kitchen sink cabinets in about=
12' of length with will be a bar sink, 2 small refrigerators and 2 wine=
coolers, This area will have the major coffee machines on it. Above
t=
hem will be top 30" top kitchen cabinets on the ends for misc. storage
an=
d selves between for the French presses, and other non-electrical
coffee =
equipment. On a side wall be my collection of coffee cups and
mugs. The =
coffee drinking bar itself, about 3' in front of the back
setup, will be =
about 10' long made out of kitchen sink cabinets with a
stained kitchen b=
ase cabinets and a 2" thick wood laminated top. There
should be room for=
about 5 to 6 barstools for the bar. The rest of the
room will hold my hu=
ge stereo system and tv's and several futon sofas
and shairs.
=
Looks like a busy Spring, Summer, and Fall.

So,
Geoge are you going to have an open-house when this is all done? Guests
could bring one of their favorite homeroasts to the party.

And then he went into some detail plans about major kitchen
with coffee bar work along with retirement. Well, I've decided that
I've done all the damage I can at Auburn so I am retiring after this
semester. And, we need more coffee space for the kitchen. The
current kitchen is 15'x15' and it connects to a 14'x30' enclosed back
porch or as we call it, mud room. We have decided to open up the
wall between the kitchen and the mud room. Put in a few more windows
to make it a more sunny space and extend the kitchen, add a coffee
bar, and put in a dining nook in this extra space. Anyway, we are
moving toward the detailed planning stage, any suggestions for the
coffee bar?

Most likely will but will probably be next year by the time it's all done. =
After all, I need someone to teach me to like espresso, or should I say ho=
w to make that great sweet espresso I have heard so much about. Just don't =
get in a huff when you see that I can't drink any type of coffee black. Bu=
