Hey Carol, another good tip on your Rocky that was passed on in person by
Mike McKoffee at a PNWCG was to find the "zero point" of your grinder. Don't
believe the markings on the bean hopper.
What you need to do is turn the grind selector to the point where the burrs
are just touching. If you spin this by hand and finger (unplug the
machine!)you will feel/hear the burrs just touching each other. That is your
"zero point". I marked mine with a little tape. For some reason my Rocky was
10 steps away from true zero. Each step on scale equates to approximately a
3 second increment in shot time if properly tamped.
Removal of the finger guard in the hopper and covering the screws with some
tape is a good mod right out of the shute. Then of course you need the
required Rocky Grounds Brush to keep every thing clean!!
