Topic: Austin Poppery II Giveaway (9 msgs / 112 lines)
1) From: Bill Morgan
I'm moving to a place with no garage/shop space, so I have to get rid of
some of the overflow. I haven't used any of the Poppery IIs since finding a
couple of original Popperys, so the IIs need to go. The garage cleaning is
happening tomorrow (Saturday, March 10), so I hope some of y'all can come
visit and lighten my load. There are about half a dozen of the PIIs, so
there should be plenty to go around.
Please reply to me off-list for the address and phone info.
Hope to see you tomorrow!

I should have made my location clearer. I'm in Austin, Texas.
If I don't get enough/any local response I'll offer to send them out into
the world, but I just don't have time to even think about that right now.

I have to admit I don't know what "SRE" might mean.
Enlighten me?

I'm not Bill, but I am in Austin so I can answer this question.
SRE is in Arlington (between Dallas and Fort Worth).
Austin is near DFW in the same way that Albany is near NYC, or Chicago
is near St. Louis, or Spokane is near Seattle.
Texas is a big state. DFW is a good 2-2.5 hour drive from central
Austin and gets longer every time I head that way thanks to urban sprawl
and congestion on an interstate highway that's become not much more than
a 4-lane divided parkway in many areas.
We do get to stop in West for good kolaches but we take our own coffee
in a Thermos :D

I love a good understatement. Just to put it into perspective for
the non-Texans here, we went to Baton Rouge, LA for a music festival
this weekend. On the way back into Texas we stopped for a rest at the
Teas Welcome Center. It is at the first exit just after you cross into
the state. Remember that Interstate Highway exits are numbered from
the west to the east on East-West interstates. That first I-10 exit
bore the mile number 880. (Yup - that is EXACTLY what it means....)
