Its rare that I roast single origins, I guess mostly b/c I like to be able
to use brewed roast beans for espresso, and vice versa, in case one runs out
first. But, I thought id do sample roasts of these 2 in the FR+8. Roasted
both for around 8mins, just on the verge of FC+. The sidamo was much darker
and seemed to retain roasting heat better. It took longer to cool. Weird how
that happens with some beans.
So, I 'cupped' both. Made them in the press pot and as an espresso. The
sidamo as an espresso was ok. Sort of heavy, but without much flavor. A
touch of fruit, bu that was it. as a brewed cup, blech. It was flat, not
much flavor. I will have to try SC/TO roasting it to see if a more
controlled profile will help.
The armpit, I was impressed! Nice espresso, better than I thought for SO.
Heavy, yet no acidity, some chocolate, and smooth. I may have to try more SO
espressos. :p

Was that a typo? Seems like my sense of the "Funky Indonesians"
You take the armpit - I'll take the sweet Brazilians...
